No Boil Water Notice for FBMUD 194

There is no boil water notice in effect for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District #194 residents or businesses.  The City of Houston has issued a Boil Water Notice for their water system and other systems effected by the City’s issue. While local media (and social media) are reporting boil water notices for the City and those other Water Districts in our area, these notices do not pertain to Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District #194 receivers, as the District maintains independent water production facilities. Again, Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District #194 is not currently under a Boil Water Notice.

In the event a Boil Water Notice needs to be issued for our community, notification will be provided. For immediate and up-to-date 24/7 information, you can always reach out to EDP’s 24-hour Customer Service line at (832) 467-1599.

Drought Contingency Plan (DCP) – Stage One

Update: Rescinded August 30, 2022

Due to prolonged drought conditions and North Fort Bend Water Authority initiating Stage 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan (DCP), FBMUD 194 has instituted Stage 1 water conservation measures of its DCP. Effective immediately, the following voluntary water use restrictions are in place:

  1. Water users within the District with even-numbered addresses may use water outdoors on even numbered days, and water users with odd-numbered addresses may use water outdoors on odd-numbered days. Outdoor water use is restricted between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight).
  2. Water customers are asked to voluntarily reduce water use by checking your toilets, showerheads, and faucets for leaks; checking under sinks for wet spots, leaking supply lines, fittings, or valves; and check your irrigation system for leaks, repairing as needed. Sweep driveways, sidewalks, and patios instead of hosing them off.

The FBCMUD 194 Board of Directors appreciates your cooperation to help conserve one of our community’s most important resources. Please stay alert to District communication as drought conditions improve or worsen.

Winter Storm Aftermath

Dear Valued Customer:

In the aftermath of the unprecedented winter storm event that ravaged the Greater Houston area and most of the state of Texas, we are currently experiencing some unprecedented increases in collection volumes and we anticipate these increases through the upcoming weeks. Homes, landscaping, and yards have been damaged by this event and as the weather has improved recently, generation of green/yard waste and bulky items has increased. Because of this, we have seen a large increase in weekly volumes compared to what is normal this time of the year. Because of this increase, we are also experiencing longer than normal wait times at our disposal and recycling facilities.

Over the course of the coming weeks, we anticipate the volumes to decrease back to normal, however you may experience a delay in the collection of your waste or recycling. If your items are not collected on the normal service day, we strive to ensure that the items are collected the next business day. We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.

As a reminder, the following items are not acceptable for normal bulky service:

  • Concrete
  • Construction Debris
  • Dirt
  • Fence Sections
  • Insulation
  • Metal Items
  • Propane Tanks
  • Sheetrock
  • Stone or Tile
  • Tires

Sincerely,

WCA, a GFL Company

Winter Storm Damage Reporting

The State of Texas and Fort Bend County have created damage reporting forms in connection with last week’s winter storm event. They have requested that residents complete these forms to help evaluate the scope of the damages from the winter storm and support their application for federal aid for the recovery efforts. Completing these forms is voluntary and does not constitute an application for individual aid.

Boil Water Notice Rescinded

On 2/16/2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Fort Bend County MUD No. 194 public water system, PWS ID TX0790543, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 2/22/2021.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the District’s operator, Environmental Development Partners at 832-467-1599 or toll free at 1-866-467-1599.
